Matso's Sunshine Coast Brewery

Alterations and additions to an existing pub

The project sees the restoration of the 1920's heritage pub, as well as the removal of various 1980's additions, to make way for a new brewery, bistro and landscape to the rear.

The new extension is defined by a four gable-roofed pavilion, which echoes the language of the existing building. The project aims to prioritise the regeneration of a generous garden, alongside the reuse of material salvaged in demolition. In doing so, the proposal seeks to celebrate the existing building's history and offer a legible and adaptable 'shed' for future generations.

This project was undertaken while at Knight Wilson, in collaboration with Five Mile Radius.
