New residence

A two-storey family home in Burleigh Heads, a short walk from the beach. The design centres on a generous outdoor living area, with the house organised around a private yard, lush gardens and a pool.

 

Simple forms define the structure, paired with a rugged, natural material palette—timber, stone, and masonry—that keeps the focus on the landscaping rather than the building itself.​

The architecture acts as a framework for the gardens, with openings and sightlines positioned to frame views of the surrounding greenery.

 

Inside, the living spaces connect directly to the outdoors, reinforcing the priority of the landscape. The straightforward, unembellished design provides a neutral backdrop, letting the landscape define the character of the home. It's a practical house for family life, shaped by the site’s proximity to the coast and the client's desire for outdoor connection.
